Winter Training Now Confirmed

27/09/2020

Port of Bristol Youth FC are delighted to link up with our partners St Bedes Collage for winter training again, week commencing Monday 5th October 2020. This is the fourth year in a row using these great facilities and we are please to now announce the plan after the recent government updates (23rd September) involving grassroots football.

With additional government restrictions on the amount of people on courts at one time, we have had to book more space over a number of different days, doubling our cost to use these facilities. Winter training is our biggest expense every year and even with this additional costs the club feel it is important to try and continue to get back to some sort of normal.

Additional Restrictions

  • Only 30 people per pitch (including coaches)
  • No use of indoor facilities.
Teams, Times & Days

All session start times are 18.00 unless stated and as with previous seasons parents will again be able to watch the sessions from the running track. With this in mind social distancing must be maintained throughout our time there if parents are to continue to watch throughout winter training.

There will be a few additional things as a club we will need to do:

  • We will have hand gel tables per pitch for the players to use.
  • No parents to come onto courts.
  • Parents will need to confirm if their child is attending training in advance.
  • Coaches will release players from the gates after sessions at different times to try and minimise people all leaving all at once.

More information will be given out before we start attending sessions but with a number of parents asking recently about 'The Plan', we wanted to give you as much as we possibly could now.

TUESDAY

In regards to our U6 and SoccerTot groups we are currently working with coaches and DBS helpers to see how we can get sessions on. With the restrictions on indoor facilities coming in we will need to confirm at a later date what is going to happen.

We understand that there will be some upheaval for some by these sessions days etc but this is the best solution with the current guidelines, with a number of coaches involved in two or three groups and their work commitments.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and continued support.
